The Information section mentions that the article should follow whatever we presented in class, but the template availableisa ctualy that of jounal paper for publishing. Therefore, my question is should we present something that resembles a published work or more of a paper related to presentation. For example, a published work wouldn't have an aims section but a paper related to presentation would actually include that.

Hi,
You should write an article that resembles an actual scientific article, with a content that resembles your presentation. I do not agree that a published work would not have aims. A typical scientific publication has background, aims, hypotheses, methods, results, discussion and conclusion.
